First one was purchased from Best Buy day of release
Build Date : 10/15/08
crappy sound quality varies from call to call.

Second one purchases from Sprint Store today.
Build Date : 10/28/08
way better sound quality, in fact PERFECT!

If you have the option to return it and your having sound quality problems, id do it. Im going tomorrow to return my wifes for a newer one, im hoping the ones they have in stock are of the same or later build date. You can tell they fixed alot of the issues as far as sound goes. Still checking differences though. Just got home from work.
