mostly for the aesthetic value.. the tf3d look is far more attractive and quite frankly more fun to use than the basic icons that are there now.
i do alot of typing and find myself using the slide out alot more and i'd prefer to be able to use the tf3d at all time not only in portrait mode..
hopefully some developers feel the same and can figure this out - im too much of a newbie just yet...
