Re: Default on-screen keyboard layout
Hey Marked - I found a fix for mine, try this.
Go into start>settings>input and select phone pad (or whichever you want), then close it out by clicking ok.
Now go into text messaging - the indicator should still bring up the qwerty keyboard with a tap, now that the keyboard is on screen, you should see a little up arrow next to it. Tap this little arrow, and This should bring up a new touch input settings menu hasn't been seen before. Select your preferred input method and it should stick now. At least mine did.
