You need to run a program called EPST on your 6800 to get all of the settings off of it. I don't know of any big write ups, but I'd be willing to assist if you run into any bumps along the way. The order of the first few steps is very important.
1. Unlock the phone
2. Change the MSL (Sprint has a unique MSL to each phone and Alltel's is 000000)
3. Flash the ROM of your choice (I've heard Conflipper's is pretty sweet!)
4. Copy the settings from EPST to your Diamond. There are going to be a few different ones, because each phone has a unique ID (ESN).
5. Call Alltel and give them the ESN from the new Diamond (A10000 or A000000)
6. Enjoy!
unfortunately I can't get my 6800 to boot up. That is why I bought the diamond. it was working great then froze up and when I tried to reboot it I never got it to come back to life. I had a custom ROM on it for a long time. I did it myself thanks to some step by step thread on this forum. Thanks to people like you who know what they are doing. lol. So since I cannot get the epst settings from my 6800 is there another place I can get them? Not that I am wanting to use it... but if I did would sprints rom that comes on it work? I was reading about conflippers earlier and may very well go with it. I just want a reliable one. I saw in a diff thread (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062) a list of roms and the stock alltel one was listed there. If I changed all settings and put that rom on the phone would that be the same as having the alltel version? I would like to have all the data and messaging and stuff working and not have things like the roaming triangle going.

I guess what I would really like to do is get the phone hooked up and stable with everything running on it like it should, and then play with some custom roms later. Thank you for your responce and help. I was scared to death when I put that ROM on my 6800 but it worked perfect and unlocked my GPS among other stuff. Thanks again.
