I too have replaced my speaker, used a kyocera 7135 - yeah it was some tedious work, but much better sound.

That being said, I wasn't to make sure you don't have an easier fix...

Some people have had what they thought was a bad speaker, only to find that somehow the little connector for the headphones was not completing the circuit.

The fix...

Plug a headphone into the jack, and try to get the connector to close.

I don't if it helps, but I wanted to make sure you didn't waste your time unnecessarily.
