Re: Gmail IMAP Problem...Can't Send Emails

Mary,

I tried your solution, but I never get asked to put in one of those visual confirmation codes, no matter how many times I put in the wrong password. (I am trying your solution on Opera on my Touch Pro).

I ended up deleting my gmail account from my touch pro and then re-installing it. So far I am able to send e-mails from my TP via gmail but I do not think it will last (in much the same way the registry hack only worked for one night).

I did find a link that describes how to unlock your CAPTCHA (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...y?answer=14257) which basically is a way to re-enter your user id and password along with one of those codes from the distorted picture. I have not tried this yet, but I will probably end up trying it if my gmail fails to send again.

Purposely mistype your password to the point you get one of those visual confirmation codes you have to type in. Type in the code and your password. Soft reset again and reset up your email. It is a known bug with Google. I can't find the article but in a Google newsgroup, it was posted. Worked for me.

This has also happened to me via Outlook on my laptop as well.
