I recently stated here that i informed the HTC America Engineer abou the issue with VC on the PRO. a couple cats posted some reg entries to help VC "limp along" so that it could announce the CID via voice, and i also sent those tips in to the engineer.
he has been in touch with me and he also asked other senior members within HTC to test out the VC on their PROs.
today he responded back with this quote:

seems HTC wants to get this device right. the engineer has been very nice by keeping me in the loop and even acknowledging there is an issue...
there is no time frame. i asked him in a follow up email how we will be alerted of the update.. hopefully he will respond.
