cooking a rom

I am new to the xv6700 family and have upgraded to the colonel's aku 3.3 rom and love it so far. However, I have noticed that it contain a lot of programs that I have no foreseeable need for and as such they are taking up space that I could use for other programs. In viewing some of the posts I see that there is a "clean & simple" rom that I can use for the aku 3.5 (which I am guessing is better than 3.3). The questions I have are: does the clean & simple have the necessary files to run my xv6700 with blue-tooth and wifi, and how can I "cook" a rom so that I can install the programs that I use?

Any assistance would be helpful.

Thanks
