If you're using the Microsoft BT Stack on your laptop its probably the culprit. I had to hack around and get a Widcomm stack on my laptop to get BT PAN working.
|
Unfortunately, my primary Acer laptop has built-in Bluetooth so changing the stack on it is not an option. Changing the BT stack is a real pain anyway as it very difficult to remove the MS one cleanly. This needs to work with the MS BT stack.
Hoping that the next kitchen will address the issue and provide a more compatible BT PAN solution.
Thanks for the input.

It's really easy. I followed this website:
http://celifornia.com/linux/article....413&mode=print
Follow the directions and you really can't go wrong. There were no extra drivers for my Sony VGN-T140P ultraportable and using those instructions I was able to replace MS's crappy BT stack with a very functional Widcomm one.

This does not help me. I have an Acer and the article is very specific to Sony including patches for that hardware. Need support for MS Stack.

Just because the article is specific to Sony doesn't mean that this wouldn't work.
I'll write a how-to for this and post it.
