I've had this problem with certain themes. I've tried other themes, and they work. I think it may be an age deal, because it seems like only the newer themes on mobilematt.net work for me. There were also a few from a thread on xda about M2D themes that were not M2DC files which did not work. I'd try another theme (MobileMatt's Metal works for me), as jdume suggested.
