I had pre-ordered mine from EVP on Monday, and they told me it would go in on the 2nd, ship overnite on the 3rd, and arrive on the 4th -- this matches the official release date most people seem to be hearing.

Then this morning I got an email from a rep at a local Sprint store that I'd hit up about the Touch Pro twice over the last couple of months. He said he had a few in stock, and if I wanted I could come get one *today*!!!

Called and immediately canceled the EVP order, drove over to the local store (Overlake in Redmond, WA), and walked out with a new Touch Pro for my Microsoft discounted price of $299 with $100 rebate, so $199.

SCORE!!!

So far I'm pretty pleased. The only trouble I've had was when I first popped in my 4GB MicroSD card, and it bogged down something fierce while the media player went and indexed all my files. Since that was done, it's been running great.

No issues with the speaker. No issues with the battery cover. No issues with the screen. The zoom control is a little too sensitive -- my big thumb tends to make it want to zoom in/out when I just want to hit the activate button in the center -- but that's an issue with my anatomy, and not really with the device.

I think I'm probably one of the first few people in Western WA to have one of these. I guess I'm pretty special until next week.
