I believe its a matter of luck right now. I'm on my third TP right now from BB. The first one had low volume, no other problems and I was going to keep it but noticed that chrome was missing from the outer case so took it back. The second one was horrid, couldn't answer calls, volume level was very low and home hard key wasn't flush with rest of phone. Now my third one is much much better. The sound level is still a tad bit low for my taste but definitely alot better, no blown speaker effect. All the buttons are flush, and most importantly I can answer all incoming calls. My theory is the amount of holes in the ear piece mesh plays a major role in sound quailty.
