The OP already stated that he tried Fring and did not like the fact that it used the speakerphone for the in-call sound.

OP, have you tried any of the following? I am not sure if any of them are exactly what you are looking for, but it was worth a quick look. Also, if you are using SIP, didn't the provider provide you software for softphones? If so, did you ask to see if they have software for PPCs? I have an IP phone system and have software for my PPC phone that works with my system for VOIP (though I never used it for more than a test because I seriously don't want to be THAT available). Also, when I was looking at a couple of different providers for SIP, they all offered free software for PPCs.
