do u think the fact that I am using an 8gb SDHC have anything to do with it?

well first off, you shouldn't need to use any sdk anymore..just use the real thing. its on dzo's site here:
http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/
under
Files:
Latest Version ( <- yes i really made this a link)
delete any and all files you can find that you have previously used with/for android, on or off the card.
what fs is your card using?
be sure that there are no files named data.anything or system.anythingelse.
then just do a fresh install from the latest version link.
the size of your card COULD do it..and I have had problems with mine in the past (6gb) that others didnt have, though I doubt that once you're above that threshold there are still yet other differences. if it works for me w/ my 6gb it should work for you with your 8gb
