well I can tell u a lil bit more since im a Sprint rep third party... well if u have insurance on ur phone u don't have to worry take it to the sprint store BUT the one that has a repair center.. if u take it to a regular store they will not do nothing for u ether like u said they will tell u to call sprint or they will try n check n upgrade u without notice n gave u a new phone... but that's the best thing take it to a repair center n they will repair it n if they cannt they will provide u with a new phone n they might give it for free or charge u 50 deductible non ref.
