In the case of the Touch Pro, customers who have had their phone for 22+ months are also eligible for a $130 mail-in rebate (but not the 12-21 month customers). So that later group ends up paying $580 - $150 - $130 = $300
Best Buy follows this format as well except their discounts are a bit more because they don't involve mail-in rebates . Customers who've had their current phone for 12-21 months get the Touch Pro for $460 -20% for signing up for a new 2 yr contract, and customers who've had their current phone for 22+ months get the Touch Pro for $300 -20%.
So for both Sprint and Best Buy, the price of the phone has nothing to do with how long you elect to extend your contract for, its based on how long you've had your current phone. In my case, I only have had my current phone for 14 months, so I only qualified for the $460 - 20% price even though I agreed to extend my contract for 2 yrs.

therefore the price for the phone for me is 580-20% since im not eligible for any discounts? even if i sign 2 yr contract?
