If adding the heat shield is as easy as one might speculate, then perhaps the users could do it themselves...that is, if they could get them.
Forcibly switching EVDO to 1x for battery efficiency is just plain silly, but maybe there's a use for that somewhere.
Also, if a registry entry needs to be added as mentioned before then I think the majority could do that as well. Don't post that now, but an even more anonymous info exchange elsewhere would suffice.
