I am 100% positive that it works IMAP for me and most of the guys here in the form, I used to use it as pop but while back I think after one of Sprint upgrade it stopped working probably, so it was advised to set it up as IMAP. I do not know if they fixed it recently or not because since I switched I never went back to POP, IMAP is just much better.
Try it, nothing to loose I guess, and the way to do it is manuelly, start with enterring your email wrong (e.g.
bones20@GGG.com) and just follow the instruction in Gmail online step by step settings, it is straight forward.
