I know it's kind of off topic but definitely seems like something that should have been included in the stock firmware! Take a look.
I don't mean to be rude at all - but why not just install it as a program yourself? There are probably thousands of apps that individual users might find useful, but they can't all be in the rom. The rom is a common baseline for everyone, but then you're free to do with it as you please.
