This might be a stupid question, but I've searched and haven't found much...

I'm trying to edit, rename and/or move some system files from the /windows directory such as gx.dll and libgles.dll from the /windows directory. I've tried using resco explorer by editing the file attribute's read-only attribute and also tried the same using Active Sync connection by setting the "Show Protected System Files" and "Show Hidden Files" and can't get it to budge.

Whats the standard operation procedure to edit system files in WM6.1?

And for the record, I'm a PPC semi-noob but in the full-size tech world I'm an IT admin and it's frustrating not to be able to do this.

Are these files in ROM?
