nothing you can really do to the line that cant be changed. first off install the battery tweak, if you dont have a charger at work its vital, if you do, it still makes life easier. the next list of apps I would get are as follows.

Gyrator 2
TCPMP make sure you get the recompiled edition that works with windows 6.1
Google maps.
theres a bunch of gsensor games on xda that are quite fun.
people have been raving about touchpal as a keyboard switch, though im not sure I am sold yet.

also, make sure you religiously open the task manager and close apps once your done with them it will save your battery a ton especially if you use opera.
