I am convinced the Diamond (and probably Pro) screen are NOT true 2.8" diagonal 4:3 aspect ratio like the original Touch, but I don't have access to both to measure.

Well I was thinking the same thing but when i finally got the diamond and compared it to my mogul the screen size seem to be the same to me. I have never owned a touch so I don't know about that comparison. Of course form factor gives it that illusion but its the same size.
