your new one is going to do the same damn thing!! lol. they dissassembled the diamond to find out that most of the "guts" are in the lower half behind and below the battery. i know they get hot(i cook chicken on mine), but i dont think that the majority of us will ever encounter any major "overheating" problems. i honestly dont think that HTC will release such an anticipated device that had a potential safety hazard.

just to be safe though, make sure u have TEP or youll be sending your phone directly to HTC which aint gonna be pretty! lol
