Data connection bug, or non-issue?
Hi all -
Does anyone know if the TD is bugged when it comes to the data connection not turning itself off after a certain amount of inactivity following data usage?
I'm using Juicy's 2.4.1 which definitely has improved my battery life to a certain degree anyway, but it would be nice if you didn't have to remember to manually turn off the data service after doing something like checking the weather, pulling e-mail, etc. in order to further conserve the battery. (My "perception" is that it seems like if I don't remember to turn off the data, my battery life is greatly shortened).
This would also allow things like the occasional automatic weather update, or casual 4hour push option for e-mail to be readily utilized without worrying about a reduced battery life as a result of doing so.
Am I missing something? Should the data connection be turning itself off? Optionally, is it possible to make this data timeout a manual setting/user-defined?
...or, are my premises flawed and I'm missing the way this eats battery power, and non-usage of data = no additional battery drain = no need to worry about manually turning off data connection when done with a data session?
I'm interested as to anyone's experience with this, and is there a solution?
Thanks!!!
