I'm in the same position as you. I emailed ecare and this is what they told me.
"Upon further research of your account, I see that you have insurance on
your phone. You may file a claim to receive a new phone. We can not
exchange your Mogul for a touch as a replacement. You can purchase the
touch by visiting a sprint retail store or at sprint.com. Also I have
listed steps to reprogram your device:"
I am still emailing back and forth with them, but I kinda think they are gonna have a large supply of new and refurb moguls to swap out for a long time.
