remember guys, This is not the official reason. Just a theory.

Now that the news of the HTC Touch HD not coming to US is sinking in, the next question is obviously why. Seeing how much interest this very desirable device has already generated, it seemed sure to be a hit in the market. Here are a few theories.

1) AT&T demanded that the HD stay out of USA, to prevent any competition with the iPhone 3G. In return they would carry the much delayed AT&T Fuze. This is supported by the absense of the HTC Touch Diamond on AT&T, indicating they do not welcome good competition to their favourite phone.

2) HTC did not want to draw attention from their new G1 android phone, and therefore decided not to release in USA.

3) HTC thinks the investment would be wasted, due to the local dominance of the iPhone in USA, unlike in Europe, where the seemed to have accelerated its release.

Here's mine, HD will kill a lot of sales of other phones especially those phones that a carrier like sprint, that spends a lot of money on investment for Diamond and touch pro. Just right now, a lot of us are willing to hold out on buying the diamond or Touch pro for this phone. It will be a huge loss for a carrier. We really don't know at this point. maybe they are just saying that it will not come to the U.S. so nobody will be holding back on buying the diamond and touch pro. It's a business strategy U know
So whatchu think guys?
I don't think 1 is valid because Verizon or Sprint would have gotten it first anyway, like any major HTC phone other than the G1. I think 2 is the most likely. 3 iPhone is very dominant in Europe and Asia, so I think no on that too.

Your theory actually makes the most sense. They already have a bunch of major phones just released and bringing in another within 6 months that is WAY better would kill sales.
