With the Diamond being my umpteenth Windows Mobile device, I have become quite used to having the Today screen and wondered if I'd add that to my fear of a hardware keyboard withdrawl when I got this thing.
BUT, I have to say that I've tried to establish a new paradigm about how I use my device, and so far it's working for me, both from a Today screen standpoint as well as a keyboard standpoint.
I too, was used to seeing all sorts of things (often too many things!) on my Today screen. Often that was at the price of performance, as I would be hogging up too many resources.
The only app I have concern about is
Spb Finance - I've always had my Today screen set to display scheduled items, so I could see my next upcoming bill at a glance. Granted, those items come up in a reminder (Spb Finance has it's own icon that shows up at the top of the screen), but I've found that icon doesn't necssarily show up the next day. I've always relied on seeing that next item on the Today screen (for as long as need be) until I paid it. At the moment, I have to make sure I check Finance on a regular basis to ensure I don't miss anything!
But I will say that I am enjoying TF3D, as it feels like I'm using something entirely new (even though I know good ol' WM 6.1 is running in the background). I just need to get that flick thing right! Too often I end up opening up a message or a contact that I did not intend to!
