Re: significance of COM ports with GPS

The phone communicates through "serial" with the gps receiver. It is hardwired for com4. Our device is just a little too small to have shunting jumpers where you can select the comport. While software might be out there to program the chip to a different comport, my money is on that it's hardwired...
