Thanks to everyone who made this hack available. After copying it to my windows directory the sound improved dramatically however the only problem I am having is when I turn off the cellular network and turn it back on the phone reverts back to the quiet earpiece volume. In order to re-establish the sound I have to increase the volume up then back down. Is there a fix for this?
