The Diamond is VGA, total 307200 pixels.

Each pixel has three transistors (RGB). If you do the math of how many more trasistor the Diamond has compared to the Touch, the Diamond MUST draw more power just to drive the screen. What the tools report (between the Diamond and Touch) don't jive.
That's a little too technical for me. I can say this. When I do the math indicated by the settings reported by myself and others to predict my battery performance, the "actual" performance of the device over a period of hours and/or days conforms with the prediction, based upon the reported Ma discharge for each setting. So, for example, if I leave the phone in standby, Phone radio On, Data On but not trasmitting, BT Off and Wifi Off, the battery will discharge at a rate of 1.5% or less per hour.

Whether the reported discharge rates are absolute, that is can be compared directly to discharge readings reported from the same tool on a different device - that would involve more analysis.
