I was noticing that my battery seemed to be running down faster than usual as of late. So I grabbed a copy of acbpowermeter and ran that. Turns our that just running the slider (with backlight still on and pocketpc awake) my power jumped from the normal resting 45-90mA (with backlight on and pocketpc awake) to ~250mA. Not really sure what is using that much battery. Maybe the animation on the slider or something; I'm not using the changing backgrounds. So that is something to look into for the next beta.
I'm loving the contacts app btw. I checked out the original thread on xda-dev and the guy has updated it again to display contacts correctly and better scrolling and he's still tweaking it. Here's the link to the thread if anyone wants to check it out:
