when u get to a human it will be a level 1 customer support.
they will tell u their name. refer to them by name throughout the process. this will make the conversation more personal and they will have greater sympathy for u.
tell them that ur phone isnt working how it is supposed to.
tell them it is constantly turning itself off, dropping call, just weird stuff. (dont say too much, dont say things like, the ear piece is broken or the screen is blurry, make it sound like it is internal manufacturing defect or something)
tell them that u got this phone for business use and it has been nothing but trouble.
they will say that they will send u a replacement mogul/titan/6800.
say "uhhh...ok.....well is there something else i can get that will work better frank?"
they will say no or that u can get a palm or a blackberry or something.
say "I know that there is a new version of this phone that is out. i need that frank.'
they will say NO, yes, or hold on a sec. (meaning they are getting supervisor)
if u cant get it from them then u say "hey frank, could i speak to ur supervisor please?"
they WILL put u on hold for 10 mins or so. so call from a land line
when u get the supervisor tell them the same sob story. refer to them by name throughout!
tell them the work u do demands that u have a phone that works well.
tell them that you want to stay with the carrier you have but will do whatever it takes to get a phone that works (implying that u will change carriers)
be smart about it, just dont take no for an answer, they will not hang up on u. DONT U HANG UP! if u are polite they arent allowed to hang up on u. just keep at it. they have boxes of the new phone right in their warehouse so dont let them tell u that they dont have any.
if after 10 minutes of trying to get it from the supervisor and u cant get it. wait a couple of hours and call back again. this will work. if u cant get it from them then ur not smooth enough and probably a better worker then me and can afford it.
my quotes are structured in a specific way. you always want to say their name at the end of a sentence. or end a sentence with a positive word like please, thanks, things like that.
