Success with my first Custom Rom on my Telus 6700

I just wanted to add my thanks to the hard work on this kitchen. Just one month ago, I was a complete noob and didn't know what these ROMs were, let alone how to use a kitchen. But in a month of mostly lurking, I have learned a lot. I started with flashing Wideawake's 2.2 then the Kitchen Project ROM. I kept thinking I should just wait for the Kitchen application before going any further.

Well, that was last week. I decided to give it a try. I made no fewer than 6 builds of my own custom ROM (using the OEMs from the FTP site.) Each build had one incremental step--an OEM added or unwanted one deleted. But it wasn't until tonight until I actually tried to flash any of them. I started with the stock Kitchen--and that went so well, I jumped straight to my last build. And so far, it is working great!

The next step will be learning to make some OEMs of my own. I suspect that will take me awhile.

Thanks again for bringing new life into my 6700. I don't have to be jealous of the other Telus users upgrading to the 6800!
