Im not exactly sure how to use it except that I make sure both programs are set to com4 and 4800, I 'open gps' in viewer but never get a position when centering on GPS in live search. Am I missing something in the settings or should I use a different program? Thanks!
I was having the same issue, searched around and found this thread... I know it's been dead for a little while (and not sure if you ever found a resolution), but here's what I just did that worked:

- went into Start, Settings, System, External GPS
- changed the "GPS program port" from COM4 (default) to COM3

At that point my phone hung, so I had to do a soft-reset. After it came up, it was still set to COM3. Tried Microsoft Live Maps, got a fix very quick. I then went back in and changed back to COM4, just in case... the change took immediately, no hanging... I re-tested Live Maps and saw no issues.

Hope that helps.
