Sure. Well, at least I can. I too came from the Mogul to the Diamond, and don't really miss the keyboard.
I do have the habit of turning the phone to landscape before I start typing since I also had the Instinct. But typing in portrait view isn't hard at all. especially if you know how to use the T9 feature. It definitely works much better than the Diamond keyboard did on the Mogul.
