Re: will the touch pro be any better than the diamond? lots of diamond problems.
I agree that Sprint and HTC are both to blame on some matters... there have been lots of issues that should have been caught early in the testing process.
On the other hand, some issues are clearly just end-user experience issues. Everyone uses their gadgets differently and has different expectations of what works, doesn't work, and what works but not to their satisfaction.
That is exactly why sites like this exist and why I stick with Windows both on the desktop and phone-- to enjoy the customization to make my experience match what I want. Don't like the UI? No problem, load a shell. Missing a feature? No problem, load a plugin. Missing a program? No problem, just install it.
Apple is getting better on the iPhone with the programs part, but still not so much with the plugins and interface experience. It's nice that I can load the iPhone UI on my Mogul... why can't I load the HTC TouchFlo or SPB Mobile Shell UI on an iPhone (for example)?
I have never had problems with BT headsets on my Mogul, even on older ROM's, but others have, because we all have different expectations on volume and quality. That's just how it is.
So what it really comes down to is this-- are you willing to spend the time and effort on a new device to get it to match your expectations, or are you truly looking for a good out-of-box experience at the risk that you may sacrifice some flexibility and customization?
Just my $1.25...
