I synced with WMP and had no problems.

The album art issue has more to do with the way your album art is stored. Most programs (itunes and WMP) use a reference to a picture, that reference is not carried over to your device. Use a program like Media Monkey to add album art to the actual mp3 file, that way it goes where the mp3 goes.
