Re: Internet not working? Possible Fixes!!

Thanks guys, you're awesome. Got my Touch Diamond delivered Wednesday (9/17) and I called and activated it and I wrote down the numbers & instructions that they gave me. After I got it, I set up the Wi-Fi and didn't notice that the net didn't work until I left the house that night. I called Wed night, Thurs, Fri and Sat and they all asked the same thing:

"Any onscreen error messages?"

"No."

"What's not working?"

"Anything having to do with the net, weather won't update, browser, TV and Music won't work."

"Oh, well okay, here it is, I notice that Vision (the internet) is actually down in your area right now."

"How big of an area?"

"Parts all over California."

"Any idea what's wrong or when it'll be fixed?"

"No and there's no ETA."

About 5 different people and they all said the same thing. Nothing about doing the ## thing. On Sat (9/20) the lady put a note in my account to credit me for all the days I don't have the net, so that's good I guess.

I posted on Sprint's Buzz About Wireless forums and eventually got led here, so I tried it and it asked me for the unlock code. Tried several different things and no dice. It let me view but not edit (and viewing it I saw that it was 0 instead of 1), Sprint's tech support doesn't open for like another 2 hours but then I remembered writing down the ## stuff when I activated the phone, sure enough, that worked. Switched to 1, did a reset and now I'm getting speeds of 2730.67Mbps in my house with 2-3bars of service!

Thanks again!

ps - Sorry about the long post, I'm just shocked at how inept people can be. I have Verizon FiOS and it's the same thing, checking on forums it's easier to find answers and then you have to hope that the CSR doesn't get mad that you know the answer before them!
