That's why I have the extended battery, so i can exercise the
option of disabling auto-sleep etc. I can't afford to miss calls. When I used the xv6700 with STOCK ROM - it failed to come out of sleep - on occasion. It happened enough that once I disabled the sleep -- auto off crap, it worked.
I'm on call 24X7 -- I can't afford to miss a call. And, unfortunately -- with STOCK ROMs -- I've had a 6700, and this 6800 go to sleep WITH STOCK ROMs and fail to wake for a call -- FACT, not something I will argue about.
I plug the PPC into power in my car and at my desk. So, disabling sleep or auto-off is a very useful option.
I am here because I can't deploy PocketPCs to managers because of the inherent unrelaiblity of PPCs as compared to Blackberries. However, if they could be more reliable...
The only phone that I deploy without that modification is a Blackberry.
My years of experience of managing the deployment of portable Windows OS devices -- And while a PPC is not a laptop - it does use similar technology for auto-sleep, etc. -- has taught me to disable those features.
So, what else is not a laptop?
Like I said --
personal preference -- I'm sure that you meant it wasn't an OPTION that
you want to consider -- not absolutely for others - right? I can guarantee that others exercise the option I described.
