I have a BELL HTC Touch with 3.09 ROM and Radio 3.42.50 everything at stock. I'm running it on my VISTA Business Edition 32 bit

Now I want to use a custom ROM, so I downloaded the unlocker 2.31.
1. Ran the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe, it extracted to a temp folder and open the DOS window
2. Followed the instruction to make sure It is connected to ActiveSync. I see my device HTC Touch icon in my windows explorer and can access this.
3. Then the unlocker init and load a temporary SPL to ram with JumpSPL
4. My screen on the PPC goes in 3 color screen showing the Soft bootloader, with Im coke 2.00 coke.
5. This is where it goes weird. The command window asks me to disconnect and reconnect.
6. I unplug the USB , hear the disconnection, and plug the USB back and hear the windows reconnection sound BUT I DO NOT SEE THE DEVICE icon in the WIndows explorer! On the PPC, it shows clearly that the connection is USB ( it switched from USB to serial to USB on reconnection)
7. At this point, I proceeded and it started the RUU and I followed the onscreen instruction. It loaded the progress bar at 0% but after a while i get the error 262.
8. Nothing was actually written and i was able to recover and im back to my original 2.00.1 SPL

I've tried several times and same thing happens, even removed my SD card but to no avail... Its as if the USB cannot be detected completely in windows correctly after in my the 3 color screen, although the PPC detected as USB connection and in windows I HEAR the connection sound but no device icon in the windows explorer...

Anyone have a solution for me?

Thanks
Ok turns out I just had to change the USB port and although it didnt show the device icon in window explorer, this is normal.... it went from 0 to 100% correctly... now on to flashing a rom :P
