For the people page, the work-around is to populate the people through the old cube rather than from the people page. Worked for me
Or in case you didn't realize, the button actually has two sections. The upper part brings up the contact page, the lower dials directly. Very clever as this means only having to put people in there once (with the cube I was putting people in twice - landline & cell).
