You do not have to change your plan to get the Diamond. The rep(s) you spoke to are mistaken. Talk to their supervisor or better yet call *2, say cancel to the stupid computer asking what you are calling for, and then talk to someone in retentions... be nice.
Don't even ask them about your plan... just tell them you want to get a new phone without changing anything else. Leave it at that.
