Wingzero: Yeah, at 520mhz the device actually feels like it really should. There are no delays when opening or closing things, alarms/notifications just pop up instantly. It feels nice at that speed.

Wideawake: Althought I don't recall anyone doing the exact same test as the one for PHM (pocket hack master), most users report the same behavior. Basically, untill we're able to disable the autoscaling of the processor and let these OC programs take over, it's always more power consumption.

cac9478 From what I recall in that power consumption thread, there's really no point in using auto-scaling with these OC programs. In other words, running it at 416mhz with XCPUScalar still uses twice as much power as not running XCPUScalar at all.

So if you're going to bother running the program, might as well just rev it up to 520mhz and get the added speed. Doing otherwise doesn't gain you anything.

Having said that, I do like the snappiness of 520 and I'll play with it for a couple of days but I doubt I'll keep it on all the time. I do notice it is noticably warmer by the battery area.

If people are really interested in OC'ing their device, I recommend helping the cause and buzz over to Anton Tomov's place to beta test PHM 2006/WM5 (he could use some 6700 users). This new version is supposed to help out with the power drainage issue but he probably needs our feedback. Here's his place:
