I tried using it as a removable drive when I was transferring over my Tomtom maps, and it would be screaming fast until it errored out around 3/4 of the way through. The only way I could get the transfer to finish was to do it via an ActiveSync connection which was hella slow. It may have just been my phone, not sure. Has anyone else had issues transferring large files when connected as a removable drive?
