Try taking a screen shot of those settings you are trying to change. Like luv2chill said, I also think it may be a hardware issue. Have long have you had these problems? I have to say I have been through about 4-5 devices in the last year and have never had that message come up. I think it may be maybe a damaged flash file, you may have a damaged unit, or something we haven't thought of, like a prank, ....
