Re: nueROM 2.2 Bleeding Edge General Discussion Thread

I am definitely not an expert by ANY definition of the term. However, I have been curious about the page pool issue. So, I'm trying to enter into this conversation to bounce some things around for discussion.

From what I've been reading here, the carriers' set the pp larger on their OEM ROMs to allow the user to experience good response.

With NueROM3's extra memory, I took advantage by increasing the page pool size to run the same programs that I used to run on other ROMS, with much better device response and smoothness.

So. It depends on how you want to expend the extra memory that No2Chem has alowed us with NueROM3.

Yes. It depends what you need. Do you need better performance or more memory to run more apps? I am happy to run MS Live GPS, Messaging, Opera and MSVC. When I want to do something else, then I close Opera.

This is JUST enough to run iGo 8 and make a phone call at the same time (leaves about 3MB free) Same for Opera Mobile (well, not quite), I can actually USE Opera Mobile without it closing on me (save for a handful of sites that apparently just eat to much RAM).
I don't believe applications use less RAM, just because we set the page pool size to another value.

It just depends on how you want to spend those RAMs No2Chem is giving us.
