Thanks for your feedback. In our next version, due to be released in a few days, we will have support for finger gestures.

On launch, Snap2Face will try to check 1) current status, 2) new notifications, and 3) friends' updated status. And this may take sometime on a slow connection. We will make this an option in the next version, so you can turn off these updates when you launch the program.
