Re: Telus Diamond – Lockup When Displaying Reminders

Well my new Diamond is locking up as well, which is leading me to think that it might be my calendar data and not actually the phone itself.

First let me provide a little bit more detail on the actual problem. The phone itself is not actually locking up. It looks like Touch Flo 3D is locking up the today screen. I am still able to tap on the start menu and it will open and I can launch an application and it will run. But, I am getting “ghosts” on the today screen (if I open the start menu and then close it, it will look like the start menu is still open but it is actually just the image of the start menu). This basically tells me that Touch Flo 3D is not redrawing itself. Once the phone is in this state the backlight will not ramp up (it stays in a dimmed state), reminders will not sound, phone calls will not come through, and text message notifications will not be shown. The phone also will not go into standby and cannot be powered down. The only way to resume operations on the phone is to soft-reset.

For the last two days I have run the phone without using Touch Flo 3D and I have not had any issues yet.

So the only thing that I can conclude is that Touch Flo 3D does not like my calendar data for some reason. I connect the phone to an Exchange 2003 server which syncs my appointments, contacts, tasks, and email. Active sync works fine and has not given me any issues. Touch Flo 3D also works fine until I get a reminder and it locks up. Also it does not do it on every reminder; it seems to do it at random with any random reminder.

If anyone else is or had encountered this and found a solution that would be awesome, but right now it looks like I am the only one having this problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.
