Over at the arianesoft forum, A_C posted his code for the slider. His version is significantly faster than the original. It is also configurable. (With animation or not, date format, time format, etc...) I'm going to patch our code into that and see what happens there. I won't be able to get to it until at least tomorrow, though. Check out the code. Not yet sure what he changed, but it is so much faster. Slightly lower battery draw, too.
