GPS
Built-in GPS (standalone and assisted); Sprint NavigationSM; GPS-powered local search, maps, and navigation from the Today screen
Assisted GPS requires a cellular network, along with GPS satellites to acquire your GPS position. Standalone GPS does NOT require a cellular network. Our 800's appear to have assisted GPS and not Standalone. This can be tested by turning off the phone radio, performing a soft reset, and using 3rd party Navigation apps, such as Garmin or TomTom (with GPSGate). You will see that you will never acquire your location, until you turn on the phone radio.
